Home Privacy policy

We protect your data in accordance with German data protection laws. The following privacy policy provides detailed information on which data we collect and store and how we use it.

1. Scope of this privacy policy

This privacy policy applies to the websites operated by Munich Airport (hereafter also “FMG” or “we”) unter the domains www.munich-airport.de and www.munich-airport.com. For other websites in cooperation with third-party providers such as www.parken.munich-airport.de or www.munich-airport-reisen.de separate privacy policies and regulations may apply.

It may be necessary on occasion to revise the data protection declaration. We reserve the right to amend the data protection declaration. The latest amended version of the data protection declaration will then be published on our website.

2. General information on the collection and use of data when using our services

2.1 What is personal data?
Personal data is information that can be associated with a specific or identifiable person (e.g. your name, address or telephone number).

2.2 What information do we store and for which purposes?
When you access our entire website (with the exception of the contact form – see below), data which could be used to identify you (e.g. your IP address) and other information such as the date, time and the pages accessed during the session is stored only in anonymized form using a pseudonym. We do not perform any data analysis except for statistical purposes. After the statistical analysis, the anonymized data is deleted.

You have a right to object to the creation of these utilization profiles. If you wish to exercise this right, please notify us in writing (Section 15 Par. 3 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG)). When a user submits the contact form, the sender’s current IP address is stored for security reasons.

This data is stored on the servers of FMG for a limited period for marketing and optimization purposes and undergoes statistical analysis so that we can offer you even better services in the future. This data does not enable us to identify any specific person.

Please note: When using certain services, however, you must register with your personal data (e.g. parking at Munich Airport). Further information is available in the separate privacy policies of the services in question.

If you register on our pages or contact us using the contact form, we will process and use the personal data collected (e.g. your email address) as needed in order to fulfill the related purpose.

2.3 Will my data be made available to third parties?
Your data will be provided to our cooperation parties, but not to any other third parties. We may be obliged to provide data to courts, public authorities or other state bodies.

2.4 Which internet technologies are used?
2.4.1 Use of cookies
Cookies are text files that are stored by your browser. The collected data can be used to create utilization profiles under a pseudonym for the web pages visited. As a result, cookies enable us to recognize your browser. This is useful, for example, in ensuring that your input is not lost in case an activity on our website is not completed (e.g. if the network connection is interrupted).

The data collected when using our services is stored and statistically analyzed for marketing and optimization purposes. However, the data collected is not used to identify the site users individually. Nor is it combined with personal data through the assigned pseudonym unless you give us your express consent.

If you do not want Munich Airport or its cooperation partners to use cookies, simply deactivate this function in your browser. You can also delete cookies at any time. Please note that deactivating or deleting cookies may restrict your use of the website and the available services. For more information, consult the help files for your browser.

2.4.2 Use of Google AdWords (remarketing / conversion tracking)
Our website uses the Google AdWords service. Google AdWords is an online advertising program of Google.

We use the remarketing feature in Google AdWords. With that feature, we can show interest-based ads to users of our website when they visit other sites within the Google display network (both on Google itself, in the form of Google Ads, and on other sites). Users’ interactions with our website are analyzed, for example in terms of the offers that interest them. This information is then used to determine which ads they will see on sites they visit later. For that purpose, Google stores a number in the browsers of users who visit certain Google services or websites in the Google display network. This number, known as a cookie, serves as a record of these users’ visits. It is used for the unique identification of a web browser on a certain computer, and not to identify a person. No personal data is stored. You can deactivate the use of cookies by Google by downloading and installing the plugin available under the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. For further information on Google Remarketing and Google’s privacy policy, see: http://www.google.com/privacy/ads/.

In addition, with the Google AdWords service, we utilize conversion tracking. If you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is placed on your computer or mobile device. These cookies, which expire after 30 days, contain no personal data and are therefore not used for personal identification. The information collected with the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking.

You can block cookies in your browser settings. In that case, however, you will not have access to all features of this website. You can deactivate personalized ads on Google and personalized Google ads across the web (within the Google display network) in your browser by clicking “Off” at http://www.google.de/settings/ads or opting out at http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. For further information on ad settings available to you and Google’s privacy policy, visit: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/?fg=1.

2.4.3 Use of Google DoubleClick for Publishers
This website uses DoubleClick for Publishers (“Doubleclick”), a service of Google. This is a platform for the placement, management and optimization of ads on websites. With Doubleclick we can reach and present personalized ads to website visitors who have shown interest in certain content areas. This is made possible through an analysis of their use of our website, including other site pages, and on other websites within the Google display network (Google itself, Google Ads, and other websites). For this purpose, Google uses DoubleClick cookies, which are stored on your computer. Most cookies contain a cookie ID. This is a sequence of characters that match websites and servers to the browser where the cookie is stored. It enables the websites and servers to distinguish the browser from browsers with other cookies and identify every browser with a unique cookie ID. This ID is used exclusively for the unique identification of a web browser on a certain computer and not to identify a person. DoubleClick cookies do not contain or store any personal data of users.

You can deactivate personalized Google ads in your browser by clicking the “Turn off” button under “Ads Personalization Across the Web” at http://www.google.com/settings/ads, or, if you use the Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer browser, by installing the DoubleClick opt out extension offered for your browser at http://www.google.de/settings/ads.

2.4.4 Use of Piwik
Our website uses the analytics platform Piwik. Piwik uses cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable us to analyze the way our website is used. For that purpose, the utilization information (including your abbreviated IP address) is transferred to our server and stored for traffic analysis purposes. This enables us to optimize our websites. In this process, your IP address is immediately anonymized. You therefore remain anonymous to us as a user. The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website is not provided to third parties. You can block the use of cookies in your browser settings. In that case, however, you may not have access to all of the functionality of this website.
If you do not agree with the storage and analysis of the data from your visit, you can withhold consent for the storage and use of the data at any time by clicking below. In that case, an opt-out cookie will be stored by your browser. It will prevent Piwik from collecting session data of any kind. Please note: If you delete your cookies, this will also cause your opt-out cookie to be deleted. In that case, you will have to re-activate it.

3. Your right to information, correction, deletion and objection

You have the right to request information free of charge on your stored personal data and the data stored in connection with your pseudonym. In addition, you have the right to have inaccurate data corrected, blocked or deleted in the cases definded by law.

You can withdraw your consent for your personal data to be stored at any time. The data will then be deleted immediately unless we are legally required to store it or it is needed for billing or accounting purposes. To withdraw your consent, please notify us by email at info@munich-airport.de or by letter at Flughafen München GmbH, Nordallee 25, 85356 Munich.

If you have any questions or suggestions on data protection, please send an email to the Data Protection Officer of Munich Airport.
